jHola! This fully-escorted tour will arrive in Madrid, Spain on day 2 after an overnight flight. We'll have a little time on our own in Madrid, and on day three we'll start our day with a sight-seeing tour, driving along the Grand Via through the Opera district to view the Royal Palace. We'll stop at a museum to view gorgeous works of art.
The next day, we board our bus and cross the rugged Sierra de Guadarrama to the town of Segovia, famous for a 2000 year old Roman Aqueduct. We'll see the walled and turreted city of Avila, and visit many other local historical ruins. Of course we'll be sampling Spanish food as we go!
On day five we depart for Portugal, driving through a lovely mountain range first. We'll visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary before continuing to Lisbon, capital of Portugal.
This morning we'll begin with a tour of Lisbon and enjoy the ambiance and food; we'll tour the Belem tower and Jeronimos Monastery, and walk through lovely cobbled alleys as we tour the old fishermen's quarter. We'll again have an afternoon at our leisure.
On day seven we'll transfer to the airport and head for home, with seven days of wonderful memories of this beautiful part of the world!
Included: Bus transportation within Spain and Portugal, tour guide. All breakfasts and one dinner are included in our tour package. LMA will provide staff to assist with meds, money, street safety, personal care assistance as needed.
Not included: lunches, and most dinners. The price can vary, but we'll seek out restaurants that offer reasonably priced food. We recommend approximately $200 for the meals and spending money.
Trip Cancellation and medical insurance is required for this tour; the price is dependant on your age, please call for a quote. This will cover for cancellations for medical reasons for the vacationer or a close family member; it will also cover for medical care overseas, should it be needed.
